The Kerberos Foundation is a private operating foundation whose mission is to provide disaster relief and crisis response based upon the spirit of protection and mitigation of suffering.

Our main philosophy can be trimmed down to the Kent M. Keith quote “If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Do good anyway.” Too often the red tape and bureaucracy of charity gets in the way of the work itself, which has the unintended consequence of increasing or extending human suffering. Representative of our core beliefs, the foundation took as its mascot and logo the mythological guardian of the underworld, Cerberus, using the old Greek Kerberos. The founders believed it to be a fitting representation of their goals; protecting the living first and foremost.

The Foundation hopes to make a difference in alleviating the immediate suffering that follows a disaster as well as the quiet suffering of people in crisis. We intend to take any opportunity to express random acts of kindness.

Founded in 2019 by Alex and Diana Kinikin, the foundation is still in its fledgling years, but aims to make a difference in the speed of crisis response, both environmental and personal.

What We Do

Natural Disaster Preparations

  • Providing transportation to rally points and hotels outside of the affected zones for persons with no means of transportation

Following a Natural Disaster

  • Clearing roads to allow emergency services access to facilities, utilities, and homes with risk factors beyond the Foundation’s training scope (fire, chemical or electrical hazard)

  • Assisting local agencies with search and rescue operations, and transporting victims and survivors to rally points

  • Helping families salvage personal belongings from homes no longer suitable for habitation

Non-Disaster assistance

  • Assisting in local search operations for missing persons

  • Clean refuse from community areas not otherwise sponsored or maintained by local governments

  • Providing seasonal meal support for schoolchildren
